Applyhing finish and stain to veneer. Mixing stains to get the color you want. Apply a finish to the veneer to see final results

I recently purchased the "Knotty Pine Veneer Sheet" which I received in a timely manner, and I am grateful. It is perfect match.

I cannot, however, match the stain that is on the other half of my table. I've tried every stain color, combination, oil-based, water-based... but no avail. Please help. Thank you.  Petros

Hello, matching the stain of a veneered surface is tricky. There is only one way that I know of to match the stain, and that is to use 2 or more stains that are a close match and mix them in various proportions.Apply the stain to scrap piece of veneer, see how it looks.Keep mixing the stains and applying to your veneer until you get the results you are looking for. Then, apply a finish to the stained veneer to be sure that the color is still what you want.
