Q. I'm using the PSA peel and stick cherry veneer to veneer the surfaces of the floor joists in my basement game room. I'm concerned that the edges of the 2 ply wood backed PSA veneer will show. Should I use the paper backed PSA cherry veneer instead of the 2 ply wood backed PSA cherry veneer? Charles

Thank you for your email. You are doing a fine job with your project. The cherry is making your joists and beams look fabulous. I’m curious as to where you found the ¼ inch cherry, as thin hardwood isn’t easy to come by.
I think you should use the paper backed veneer if you are concerned about the edges showing. Our 2 ply wood backed cherry does have wood backer that is usually a brownish red color, but there is no guarantee, and sometimes the wood backer is much lighter.
Be sure to prep your surfaces as per the instructions and tutorials on my website.
