Q. Hi Bob Morgan.I’m refinishing and re veneering my kitchen cabinets. My thought is to veneer the sides first with wood backed veneer, then the faces with paper backed so the edge thickness is least noticeable. Does that make sense or is neither that noticeable edgewise.
- A.The 10 mil paper backed veneers have a very thin edge profile (approximately 1/64”).The wood backed veneers have a thicker edge profile that is more noticeable (approximately 3/64” thick). Therefore, I recommend using the paper backed veneers on areas where the edge profile is noticeable.
