Elmer: Hey Bob,  Do you make wood veneer in 14’ lengths?  I need a 14' x 12" sheet of veneer to wrap a long beam.

Hi Elmer, - Wood veneer isn't available in 14' lengths.  The longest  veneer we have is 12' long.  You can get the 14' length by joining 2 matched veneer sheets end to end.  You can use one of our  4' x 8' sheets of veneer for this.  The 4' x 8' veneer sheets are made up by matching identical slices of veneer from the same log. You cut 2 identical pieces of veneer from the 4' x 8' sheet, rotate one sheet 180 degrees, and join he 2 veneer sheets end to end to get the desired length.  The grains where the veneers are joined are identical, mirror image matches, that flow into each other.  The veneer joint isn't hidden, but it is pleasing to the eye.
