Re veneering bathroom cabinets. Putting PSA peel and stick veneer on a laminate cabinet substrate.

Hi Sir. Love your YouTube videos.

I am re veneering a very old synagogue bathroom cabinet.  The cabinet that I'm veneering is slab (flat front) laminate. Do you think the 3M PSA peel and stick veneer would work adhering to a laminate surface? I'd like to veneer the cabinet to make make it look like a real wood vanity. The cabinet is reaally sad and old, and I think that a real wood veneer surface would make the cabinet look great.  What do you think?

Thanks,

Laura

Hi Laura,

Yes, I think that you can re veneer your bathroom cabinet. When veneering over a laminate, scuff sand the surface. You should scuff sand enough so that a coat or 2 of paint or varnish will adhere well to the surface. Then, scuff sand the painted or varnished surface to help the peel and stick PSA adhesive adhere. You can use the peel land stick paper backed veneer for this, or the 2 ply wood backed peel and stick for this.I like the wood backed peel and stick veneer the best.
