Wood Backed Veneer, Paper Backed Veneer, Peel and Stick or Contact Cement?

Jerry: I have a few questions. this is my first time with veneer, I am wondering if the peel and stick or contact cement will stick to the wood fiber I had to use on the top of my project? I have sent two pictures. I am thinking that the 3/16 wood backed would be better the paper backed? The wood backed would hide any voids I missed, right? I am thinking the peel and stick would be better for a first timer. Your help with this matter will be greatly appreciated.

Hi Jerry,

I think that you can use contact cement or the peel and stick veneer to re veneer your table top. My recommendation: Use the wood backed peel and stick psa veneer, as it will help to smooth out any surface problems a little better than the paper backed psa peel and stick veneer.
