A few of our products have a paper tape on the surface of the veneer face. The paper tape is a water based, gummed tape that was put on during the manufacturing process. After your face is glued to the substrate, remove the tape. Use a damp sponge to dampen the tape. Give it some time for the dampness to soak into the tape. The glue will loosen and you can scrape and sand the tape off. Note: Be sure to get the glue residue out of the wood pores. Use a damp sponge for this. Also, sand the surface where the tape came off. The mistake that most people make is to use too fine of a grit for sanding. Please Note: Sometimes there will be a little glue squeeze-out at the seams of the veneer surface. This will sand off easily.
